The Miguel A. Loya College of Engineering Dean’s Office supports opportunities that advance the research and professional development of our graduate students.
Eligibility
To be eligible for travel support, applicants must:
- Be pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. within the Miguel A. Loya College of Engineering.
- Have an identified faculty mentor within the College.
- Be enrolled full time (9 credit hours) or be in the thesis or dissertation stage (3 credit hours).
- Be presenting research at the conference or professional meeting.
- Have requested travel support from other available sources, such as their department, faculty mentor, research center, the Graduate School or SGA.
Funding Requirements
- Applicants must disclose all other sources of requested or awarded travel support and provide documentation showing the final funding decision and amount awarded, if applicable.
- If a funding decision is still pending, the application will be held for review until a final decision is provided. Applications without the required funding information and documentation will not be considered.
Award Process
- Travel support is limited and awarded through a competitive review process. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
- Funding decisions will consider available resources and the applicant’s efforts to secure support from other sources. International travel requests are highly competitive and may be considered only under exceptional circumstances.

- Other eligible expenses
