The College of Engineering, Dean’s Office, its committed in supporting research and development activities to its engineering graduate community. The Research & Graduate Studies Division can provide partial assistance in covering costs that are associated with: academic conferences, national conventions, specialized research opportunities, amongst others.

Funds for travel support are competitive, and funding may be applied to specific eligible costs associated with the activity. All interested applicants need to submit a Question Pro survey, and include the following supporting documents:

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled in an engineering graduate program during the application cycle in which they apply and must show progress towards their degree.
Applicants must have an acceptance notification from the conference, national convention, and/or research presentation.
Applicants must comply with academic department and UTEP Student Travel guidelines.
All university policies relating to academic integrity and scholastic dishonesty are applicable to student applications for internal funding. Plagiarism, or other forms of scholastic dishonesty, will result in an application being removed from consideration and referral to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.
Students are expected to maintain absolute integrity and a high standard of personal conduct during any university sponsored travel. Further information on UTEP’s standards of conduct can be found in the University Handbook of Operating Procedures.
